Matador

Break out your deck of cards, cause I need time to reminisce.
I don't care what game we play, as long as we're here doing this.
Tell me stories I've heard, a hundred times, until your memories run thin.
Deal a hand, relive these times, but promise you won't let me win.
My life is like that painting you kept hanging on your wall;
A bull fighting off a matador, who has no chance at all.
But I stay quick to my instincts, and true to my heart,
Cause if you taught me anything, it's to finish what you start.
It's to finish what you start.
Twenty-one years, you've shown me love.
Twenty-one years, you've asked for hugs.
And every last one, was just as good as the first.
And every last one, was just as good as the first.
And every last one, was just as good as the first;
And days without them, will have me feeling worse.
But long after you're gone, I'll hang that painting on my wall.
A bull fighting off a matador, I got my chance after all.
Cause I stayed quick to my instincts, and true to my heart,
Cause if you taught me anything, it's to finish what you start.
It's to finish what you start,
It's to finish what you start.

I Don't Hate You

It's way too crowded in this empty apartment, empty bottles of wine and a chill down my spine when she said, "I don't hate you, but I just don't love you anymore" and I thought that I would cry, but my eyes were way too dry; so I debated and disagreed.
But November seemed to come with extra baggage. And my days since that night just keep on dragging.
I said I'd climb one hundred mountains and I'd risk drowning in the sea. But all that I really want to know, is what makes him better than me. I was there when you laughed harder than you ever had before. I'm the one who picked you up when you were crying on the floor.
It's way to crowded in this empty apartment, empty bottles of wine and a chill down my spine when she said, "I don't hate you but I just don't love you anymore"
So I debated and disagreed; I hope you're happy with what you took from me.
